Sajjangarh Fort, situated on the top of a hill is a beautiful Palace from where you can get a bird’s eye view of Udaipur. A perfect place to catch a sunset, it is an astronomical centre which presently serve as a monsoon palace and hunting lodge. Explore the Palace and see a grand central staircase, several rooms, quarters and galley on the lower level of the Palace, used to house and killing the victims and invaders who have been poisoned and hanged.

Built by Maharana Sajjan Singh, this Fort is no less than a fairy-tale castle. Perched on the top of a mountain, it is originally an astronomical centre which has been transformed into monsoon palace and hunting lodge. The huge towers of the Palace are worth exploring and feature a grand central staircase and several rooms and quarters. As you continue to the lower level of the palace you can see a galley which was used to house and killing the victims and invaders who have been poisoned and hanged.
Next, visit the Shiikarbadi or the Khas Odi - a hunting lodge of the Royal Family of Mewar. The hillside is thickly wooded and has various wildlife species including spotted deer, nilgai, monkeys, peacocks, and a host of migratory birds. This is a very good place to catch a sunset and panoramic views of the surrounding hills, lovely lakes and snow-white palaces
