Gaumukh temple is one of the most sacred places of the Rajasthan. Named after the wish-fulfilling cow gifted to sage Vashistha, it is built from a huge rock. If you are in Rajasthan, then you must visit the Gaumukh Temple. Located at 5 kilometers from the main town, the Gaumukh temple is named after the wish- fulfilling cow gifted to Sage Vashistha by the Devas. You can see an Angi Kund – a site of sacrificial fire where Saint Vashisth used to perform the yagni. Built by cutting it out from a huge rock, the temple has a stone carved cow’s head from which a natural spring flows. You will also find the statues of Nandi, Saint Vashishtha, Lord Ram and Lord Krishna at the entrance.
