Known by Mammiyoor Shiva Temple and Mammiyur Mahadeva Kshetram, it is located in Thrissur district of Kerala. The principle deity of the temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of Uma Maheswara. The idol of lord Vishnu has been set just next to the idol of Lord Shiva. It’s totally mesmerizing sight to see both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu together.

It is said that every devotee who goes to Guruvayur temple is supposed to go to Mammiyoor also, as a ritual. The temple which is the part of the 108 famous Shiva temples in Kerala is among the five Shiva temples around Guruvayur. As you enter the temple, you will see lord shiva facing east in Rowdra Bhava. Next to it is an idol of lord Vishnu. It is said that idol of Lord Vishnu was installed to reduce the anger of Lord Shiva. Here the lord Shiva is depicted as a family man, with Goddess Parvati on his lap and Lord Ganesha, Subrahmanya and Ayyappa beside. The specialty of this temple is that throughout the years various festivals are held. Lalitha Sahasranama Archana is the biggest festival in which children from all parts of the country gather in the temple to participate in the Sangeetharchana event.
