In this tour, you will explore the Necropolis Graveyard. Necropolis is a large burial place usually, it was established outside the town. It is the turkey’s greatest ancient graveyard, dating back 2,500 years ago and one of the extensive cemeteries in Anatolia. It has three separate parts, north, south, and west. The north one is the largest one in Hierapolis with more than 1200 graves. There are 4 different types of graves here and relate to the late Hellenistic, Roman and Eastern Roman periods. Hierapolis is a spiritual city and aged people come here to take advantage of the thermal baths and spend their last days here and many of them died and buried here.
