Overview

Enjoy a stroll through the Venetian harbor of Chania and admire the lovely sunset. Work your way up to the Lighthouse and click as many photographs as you can. See Firkas Fortress on the left side of the harbor and a shipyard and a Turkish mosque on the right side. Simply sit, relax or enjoy the lively ambiance of the harbor.

Description

Built by the Venetians between 1320 and 1356, it is the one of the most-visited places in Crete. On the left side of the Harbour you can see the Firkas Fortress, with a Maritime Museum of Crete next to it. Apart from the Shipyards there is a Turkish mosque on the right side. The lighthouse is the major attraction of the harbor and is the most photographed monument. It was built at the harbor entrance by the Venetians and restored in its present form by the Egyptians. Enjoy a stroll through the Venetian harbor of Chania and admire the lovely sunset over a cup of tea or coffee.
