Overview

Known for its Grand architecture and a beautiful Lake, the Balsamand Lake Palace is worth exploring. Surrounded by hill and the Balsaman Lake in front, this Palace is an amazing specimen of the Rajput architecture. Built in red sandstone it has a vast expanse of gardens and orchards.

Description

Located around 8 KM away from the main city of Jodhpur, Balsamand Lake is a popular picnic Spot. Surrounded by the hills, this lake was constructed in 1159 as a reservoir to supply water in the Mandore region. Thousands of visitors visit this lake every day. Take a stroll through the picturesque garden and admire the cascading waterfall that waters the garden. Just next to lake is the Balsamand Palace known for its grand architecture. Built by Maharaja Sur Singh in the 1936, it has three gates for the entrance. Sprawling over 60 acres of land with orchards of lime and pomegranate and well maintained gardens, today it is converted into the hotel.
