Fort Kochi, Kerala
St. Francis Church is the oldest European Church of the India. Built by the Portuguese in the early 1500’s, initially, the church was a simple wooden structure, dedicated to St. Bartholomew. However, later in 1506, the raja of Cochin permitted the Portuguese Viceroy Dom Francisco Almedia to reconstruct the church in stone. The new church was completed in 1516 and was dedicated to St. Antony. A gravestone of Vasco da Gama is another point of fascination here. Church also features an Old Dutch baptism and marriage register, the Doop book.
This is the church where faith and history meets. Having witnessed and survived a period of wars and invasion, this church still retain that old charm. The church has a lofty structure with a gabled timber framed roof covered with tiles. A steeped pinnacle on both side of the façade gives it’s an impressive look. The interior of the church is as grandeur as its exterior. The two stepped pinnacles crowns the top of the chancel roof and an arched opening divides the chancel form the nave. As you move, on the southern side of the church you would see the gravestone of the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama who was once buried here before his remains were removed to Lisbon.
With the private transfer in an AC car, leave your hotel at around 10:00 am, to feel the charm of calm place. We offer the proper pick-up and drop-off facility up to your scheduled destination. Saint Francis Church has admirable surroundings and taste of adventure for your enjoy. You can capture the memorable moments. After around two hour tour, we get to our initial point. Golden triangle was helpful for us to visit three different destinations in three states of India with cultural differences. It was my honeymoon trip & we booked it from Antilog vacations. We enjoyed rickshaw ride in Delhi & visited Chandni Chowk, Red fort, Jama Masjid & Qutub Minar. Taj Mahal visit was a wonderful Honeymoon gift for both of us, we spent half of our day at Taj Mahal. We were surprised by flower decoration & Honeymoon cake with royal treatment at Jaipur.

We organized a family trip for a week; it was a tour of Delhi Agra & Jaipur. This was a leisure trip for the elders but at the same time educational trip for the Children. At Delhi we visited Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate, Red fort & Akshardham Temple. Then we went to Agra there we visited Agra fort & Taj Mahal. On the way to Jaipur we also visited Fatehpur Sikari. Our last two days of the tour were in Jaipur, there we visited hawa mahal. Pink city, Jal Mahal & Amer fort. This tour was the result of Antilog Vacations tour planning. Thanks to Antilog for such a wonderful trip.
