Basilica di San Marco is one of the most famous Church and is the perfect blend of the Gothic, Byzantine, Romanesque and Renaissance styles. Located at the eastern end of the Piazza San Marco, adjacent and connected to the Doge's Palace, it's domes, turrets, and gold mosaic
stand out over the square and over Venice. The four horses on the top the entrance are taken from Constantinople when Venice sacked that city around 1200. The interior of the church is equally beautiful and is based on a Greek cross, with each arm divided into three naves with the dome of its own as well as the main dome above the crossing. Based on Constantine's Church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople, the dome above the crossing and the western dome are bigger than the other three.
