Overview

The Piazza Farnese is one of the most important and beautiful squares. First designed in 1517 for the Farnese family, the building expanded when Alessandro Farnese becomes Pope Paul II in 1534. it is city's largest Renaissance palace, serving as the French embassy. The Chiesa di Santa Brigida, a former house of the Swedish saint that was converted into a church upon her death in the 1370s, and two fountains that look like bathtubs.
