Overview

At an altitude of 2115 m, this 9th century Sun temple is beautifully nestled in Kumaon hills. This one of the most important temples of God Surya is located at Katarmal and was built by a Katyuri king. On the hilltop, this magnificent architecture offers a pleasant view of Almora. The temple is famous for its wood carving, metalic sculptures and idols of Shiva-Parvati and Lakshmi-Narayana.
