Overview

Thiksey Monastery as the largest Monastery of Ladakh is famous for its wonderful architecture and beautiful set up in Indus Valley. At the top of the hill, the 12 storey monastery is a living area of 120 monks & nunnery. This famous religious centre has a big statue of around 40 ft of future Buddha 'Maitreya'. The other attractions of Thiksey Monastery are rare statues, wall paintings, stupas, precious stupas and much more.
