In the charming location of Gulmarg, Maharani temple is a blessed place along the well maintained idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This temple invites a lot of visitors to its serene location despite being in the middle of the city. It is positioned on a slight hill top where greenery glides down from all its four sharp slopes. The temple creation is in a special peak style with a pointed end at the top, which demonstrates that even then, Jammu’s architecture had a South Indian inspiration.

Located exactly in the middle of the city, Maharani temple is observable from almost every turn of the Gulmarg town. This Shiva temple is one of the last few collections of the Dogra dynasty, who ruled the earlier generous state of Jammu & Kashmir. The temple acquires its name from the dedication of the royal devotee, the wife of King Hari Singh.
