This Mahal was built when the rule of Mandu Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji. He governed 31 years over Mandu. It is believed that he gave importance to the women and songs in his ruling life. He having the large harem of about 15000 women for that he wants a proper residence. That's why Jahaz Mahal was constructed in second-half of the 15th century.
